Job Summary

Responsible for providing financial expertise, business support and oversight for Walgreens Health to assist in achieving key objectives. Key owner of all critical long range planning and financial business models for Walgreens Health. Guides management on financial related matters and decisions. Manages daily financial inquiries for Walgreens Health. Contributes to the development and execution of business team priorities by participating in joint issue identification, analysis and resolution.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provides strategic business partnership and financial analytical support for business teams and leaders
  • Working closely with leadership team to formulate the department’s medium to long term financial and strategic plans
  • Lead all long range business planning, strategic initiative evaluation, and budgeting / forecasting modeling, including DCF and NPV analyses
  • Create PowerPoint presentations as an output from models to help drive effective discussion with executive leadership team
  • Interpret data, develop solutions, and effectively communicate recommendations and results to leadership
  • Proactively generate insights and identify trends in results through analyses of financial data, variance to budget, tracking to forecast, etc. on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Leads the preparation of the financial forecasts and budgets, including the identification/quantification of risks and opportunities; involves facilitating the negotiation and agreement of key operational metrics and inputs.
  • Manage annual forecast process for multi year revenue growth to support strategic direction setting for the organization
  • Partners with business management to maintain a strong understanding of the key business drivers of the assigned area, specific business processes and priorities, and future strategic direction of the assigned area.
  • Addresses issues with appropriate teams to develop plan of action. Identifies opportunities to improve processes and practices. Works with business and functional teams to develop consistent management reporting and processes.
  • Supports monthly reviews and periodic business planning sessions. Involves evaluating financial and operational results, monitoring data and contributing to the development of key initiatives.
  • Identifies and analyzes various investments and substantiates rationale for projects through business case developments.
  • Directly manages team members including hiring, developing, motivating and directing people as they work, and manages teams indirectly across client and operational organizations (including assisting in the development, training and assignment of work/projects to other members of the team).
  • Participates in medium term and strategic planning for the assigned business area.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years OR High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience in Investment banking or valuation
  • Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and PowerPoint
  • Intellectually curious, driven, independent self starter with a high growth mentality
  • Experience working in high speed environment with multiple competing deadlines. Strong multi tasking skills
  • A communicator with the ability to grow talent and future leader
  • At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Experience working as the financial liaison on a business team
