Job Summary

Responsible for working with senior leadership to attract, find, assess, and deliver executive talent to both Walgreens Boots Alliance and its divisions in support of enterprise wide short, medium and long term strategies through ownership of full cycle recruiting process for Senior Directors through EVP level positions.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensures highest levels of service delivery and operational excellence are provided to internal and external executives and partners in support of business goals and employment branding.
  • Represents WBA and its divisional brands to candidates through enterprise knowledge, acts as an ambassador of the organization, being the first point of Company contact with candidates for certain positions and career opportunities.
  • Forges consultative partnerships with WBA and divisional executive clients as advisor to support business goals through executive talent. Develops and maintains knowledge and understanding of enterprise, divisional and departmental goals and cultures. Provides deep understanding of the external and internal talent market environment, organizational and divisional landscape and the HR strategic agenda.
  • Acts as US based executive recruitment subject matter expert and ensures that global and US recruiting strategies are developed and innovated against to align for support of both broad and localized recruiting solutions and activities. Drives synergies and efficiencies within WBA and between divisions, where appropriate.
  • Collaborates with global and divisional COEs (Compensation, Benefits, Global Mobility, Legal, Tax, Immigration, Talent Management, Diversity and Inclusion, Mergers and Acquisitions, IT, HRIS, etc.) on both broad processes and practices, and regarding individual circumstances to anticipate, address and enable successful attraction and placement of executive talent.
  • Develops and provides direct sourcing, networking, talent profiles, market mapping, and ongoing outreach efforts in support of talent pipelines, branding, and executive leaderships’ internal and external relationships.
  • Develops and executes against search strategies and initiatives to source internal and external talent to fulfil business requirements- including sourcing, screening, interviewing, assessing, summarizing, presenting, and closing executive talent for the senior audience in the enterprise. Ensures alignment and clarity of role and requirements, appropriate stakeholders/decision makers for talent, selection and prioritization of ideal candidate profile.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to identify external talent for key positions, ensuring WBA commercial terms are in place in all situations. Incorporates end-to-end process of consulting on structure and creation of position description for search as needed. Develops and owns tailored search strategy as leader of recruitment activity for role.
  • Develops and manages relationships with retained executive search firms known and new, to ensure that best in class vendors are identified and aligned for support of search efforts.
  • Collaborates with external partners and suppliers in order to attract, recruit and develop senior management. Manages search contracts and spend in respect to overall US search partnerships and respective individual searches.
  • Enhances best practices and develop tailored solutions to facilitate interview and selection processes with senior leaders.
  • Develops and delivers complex offers and close candidates by effectively articulating win win outcomes. Troubleshoots issues during contingency clearance and pre-hire phase to ensure successful onboarding.
  • Completes confidential and complete referencing of finalist candidates and develop formal report to hiring manager with insights to elements of onboarding for short and long term success.
  • Partners with Asset Protection in pre employment check strategies, review of results, presentation to leadership and incorporation into robust onboarding program. Ensures a consistent approach and result.
  • Manages and ensures outstanding candidate experience from all aspects of brand including preparation for interviews, travel, interview scheduling/experience, requests for additional information, communication of feedback at each stage in process, offer process, pre employment and onboarding in reflection of the WBA and Walgreens employer and consumer brands.
  • Coaches and mentors colleagues assisting with leadership openings at the non executive level (level 8/Senior Director and below) including management of retained search partners, as needed. Supports leadership openings at the non-executive level (level 8/Senior Director and below) as needed due to role specifications/high volume.
  • Manages accurate information in applicant tracking systems. Maintains accurate candidate documentation to ensure legal compliance with employment practices, policies, procedures, and OFCCP regulations. Ensures compliance for EEO/Diversity Programs.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in an in house recruitment department or retained search agency OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in an in house recruitment department or retained search agency.
  • Experience utilizing behavioral interviewing and other assessment techniques.
  • Experience in sourcing, screening, interviewing, and assessing talent
  • Experience writing candidate summaries and communicating feedback in writing to senior level leadership.
  • Experience presenting offers to candidates and negotiating as needed. Experience with ensuring timely follow up with candidates to provide a positive experience.
  • Experience with Kenexa or similar recruiting software tools (Peopleclick, Greenhouse, etc.).
  • Experience providing senior level executives (hiring managers) consultative delivery of end to end search services, meeting industry top quality services, yielding high ratings of evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community and with vendors.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to/at least 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience utilizing behavioral interviewing and other assessment techniques
  • AIRS Certification
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external resources to develop strategies that meet department goals within budget and established timelines
  • Experience working with OFCCP compliance guidelines
