Job Summary

Manages medium to large projects or single projects of great complexity. Projects may involve participation from and have impact on multiple functions within or across divisions and have a substantial impact on the corporation/division. Budget responsibilities are based on project requirements.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages medium to large projects or single projects of great complexity.
  • Establishes and monitors project requirements. Provides ongoing management of project from inception to completion.
  • Manages a project plan that involves a mid-size number (15 to 20) of team members.
  • Ensures projects are completed according to time and budget schedules, and that objectives conform to division/dept's overall standards and operations objectives and user requirements.
  • Defines problems/needs and solutions involving substantial latitude (judgment/decision making skills) in course of action.
  • Organizes project teams by identifying areas of needed expertise and required skills. Directs the activities of project teams to ensure quality and timeliness of project completion.
  • Contributes to performance management of a matrixed team.
  • Prepares standard and ad hoc management reports and presentations for assigned projects.
  • Drives resolution of project conflicts. Engages with senior management when necessary.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing with various audiences, including executive management.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years project management experience OR a High School Diploma / GED and at least 5 years project management experience.
  • Experience applying / executing project management methodologies and practices including developing a project plan, charter, scope, project management approach and management plans, such as the statement of work, cost estimates, schedule, etc.
  • Experience presenting and reporting on project plans to appropriate stakeholders, executives and senior management.
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and indirectly managing teams across business units.
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at various levels of the organization, such as peers, internal/external stakeholders, business partners, senior level managers, executives.
  • Experience utilizing project management software and other standard project management scheduling tools, such as MS Project and Planview, etc.
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).
  • At least 1 year experience of cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • An employee in this position can expect a salary/hourly rate between $98,900.00 and $158,200.00 plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable.   • Certified in Project Management (PMP) as granted by PMI.
  • Experience negotiating with outside vendors, including negotiating contracts, prices, resolving service issues and reconciling differences.
  • Experience driving resolution of project conflicts within a team.
  • Knowledge of business practices as related to project specialty area, such as IT, HR, eCommerce, etc.
  • Knowledge of project management financials.
  • Experience working with strategic planning initiatives.
  • Portfolio Management experience.
  • Demand Management experience.
