The Senior Director of Digital and Omni Products requires strong business leadership and technology knowledge coupled with an obsession for excellence in customer experience. This senior director will lead the definition of our product vision, roadmap, product priorities and drive execution of planned products with engineering and user experience teams. The program management organization will also report directly to this individual to ensure strong connection of strategy and delivery. She/He will be accountable for customer and business results of products launched and will have a strong influence in shaping the future success of Walgreens in the digital retail space.

Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
  • Defines the Omni-channel product vision for Digital commerce, across marketing, sales, merchandising, operations and service that supports the company’s vision, strategy and direction
  • Defines and prioritizes the digital commerce product development roadmap for the division and company, with a strong product portfolio management analytical approach. Directs the operations of Product Management to achieve strategic and operational business goals and targeted financial and content quality results. Develops and oversees the implementation of processes, and policies that have significant impact upon the organization.
  • Manages product lifecycle from development, launch, and enhancements to retirement. Forecasts usage and business impact in P&L top and bottom line.
  • Develops short- and long-range product and service strategies and plans.
  • Oversees the execution of operating plans for Product Management. Makes recommendations for the formulation of the strategies and operating plans for Product Management, then, based on prevailing conditions executes or adjusts the operating plans of the business unit directed.
  • Brings a strong financial and business discipline to roadmap prioritization and perform pre/post launch analysis of each product and drives team financial accountability for results. Develops budget for specified area and is accountable for delivering against business goals/objectives. Sets financial, operational and quality objectives for the unit or product line and develops master operational plans.
  • Shares highly complex information related to areas of expertise. Interacts with senior management to keep abreast of objectives. Interacts with direct reports and peers in management / customers / vendors to interpret information and improve cross-functional processes and programs. Builds and enhances key internal and external contacts.
  • Accountable for growth and optimization of consumer awareness, market share and/or specified initiatives. . Reviews the competitive marketplace and makes adjustments to operational activities based upon identified information.
  • Leads the teams responsible for defining scope of different products within portfolio and roadmap, define requirements and lead execution via program management, engineering and customer experience. Oversees and directs the work of director, managers and their subordinates. Obtains and allocates resources to meet operating plans. Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 8 years of experience in product management in technology and/or retail industry OR a High school / GED and at least 11 years of experience in product management in technology and/or retail industry
  • At least 4 years of experience in consumer-facing online commerce
  • Experience establishing & maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, in the business community & with vendors.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
  • Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience managing and leading cross-functional teams.
  • Experience interacting at the executive level.
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial business decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree OR MBA
  • Experience in a retail industry with focus on Omni-Channel.
