Job Summary

Provides support to pharmacies within assigned Region to improve non-clinical operational performance of retail pharmacy, and drive initiatives in support of best-in-class pharmacy processes. Conduct thorough analysis of assigned pharmacies, identifying broader issues and implement best practices to
enhance efficiency and patient experience. Collaborates with the regional leadership team and other Field leaders to deliver solutions that optimize program delivery. Assists with the implementation of ad
hoc healthcare initiatives, programs and projects being delivered in the pharmacy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with Field leadership in underperforming markets to perform root cause analysisaddressing operational issues and service quality and diagnose areas for performanceimprovement ensuring the effective execution of operational procedures and meeting of marketneeds.
  • Identifies gaps in pharmacy operations knowledge among team members and supporting thoseteam members in their training, either through hands-on training or assignment of learning modules.
  • Assists pharmacy manager with implementing procedures that promotes the efficient workflow ofthe pharmacy including assigning roles, coordinating activities, and soliciting team membersuggestions.
  • Maintains current knowledge of information technology associated with pharmacy systems andpatient care procedures including patient registration, prescription data entry, preparation ofmedications for patients, counting, and verifying (where allowed by law), administering vaccines,health screenings, and any health services allowed by law.
  • Assists in the implementation of ad hoc healthcare initiatives and visits selected pharmaciesregularly to ensure the successful adoption of enterprise transformation initiatives and continuous improvement for future projects. Assist with transitioning new healthcare initiatives into basebusiness.
  • Function as a subject matter expert in reviewing training documents and standard operatingprocedures as they relate to pharmacy operations that do not require pharmacist licensure.
  • Helps to execute established standards of work performance and facilitate continuousimprovement to reach market goals; recognizes development needs in underperformingpharmacies and capability gaps and arrange approved non-clinical Pharmacy best practices toaddress needs.
  • Participates in regular update meetings with the regional leadership team to evaluate region-levelpharmacy performance.
  • Under supervision of the pharmacist, strictly adheres to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding GoodFaith Dispensing during all applicable prescription-dispensing activities and understands their rolein ensuring that the elements of Good Faith Dispensing are met.
  • Maintains PTCB or ExCPT certification through the designated training program and/or staterequired certification/registration within assigned region.
  • Maintains immunizer certification through the designated training program and/or state requiredcertification/registration within assigned region.
  • Maintains and enhances current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare.
  • Obtains and maintains necessary certifications, education credits and training such as LTMP e-modules as required by the Company.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Certified Immunizer
  • Has one year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Walgreens Operations Experience.
  • Previous people management/ leadership experience.
  • Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation.

Salary Range$18.25 - $24 / Hourly
