Responsible for development of long-term models for tracking and forecasting Walgreens/WBA carbon footprint. Manages carbon reduction goals across Walgreens and provides increased periodic reporting of Goal progress and external/internal messaging. The Manager, Energy & Sustainability partners crossfunctional with other divisions including Supply Chain, IT, Campus for identifying improvement opportunities related to carbon footprint. Additional responsibility includes team management, stakeholder engagement, ability to present to a diverse audience, vendor management, and governance process management.
Develop energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) / carbon emissions inventories and create models forachieving or informing corporate goals for energy reduction, green energy adoptions, or GHGreduction, including progress toward Net Zero goals or Science Based Targets (SBTs)Ensures alignmentwith industry standard for communications and calculation methods for sustainability performancealigned to key industry reporting platforms, such as CDP, DJSI, GRI, GRESB, and various federal andstate/local disclosure programs, inclusive of project management, stakeholder interviews, drafting,and submittal.
Oversees the development and continuous improvement of long-term energy/carbon model,capturing information including historical consumption, energy efficiency retrofits, impact of carbonimpact from Renewable Energy contracts, regional grid e-factors and top utility generation transitionstrategy, and estimated impact on total carbon footprint
Leads periodic carbon reporting process in partnership with CSR and Finance.
Manages vendor partners through process documentation, vendor deliverable, and timelinesexternal/internal for reporting cycles l
Creates and oversees reporting practices aligned to any newly adopted assurance standards
Partners with CSR and stakeholders for goal reestablishment including modeling against future goalambitions.
Leads the review and modeling process for all footprint impacts to the business including acquisitions,divestitures, consolidations, and expansions.
Consults with other divisions including Supply Chain, IT, and Campus on carbon footprintperformance, projected impact, and potential reduction opportunities.
Supports Scope 3 emission tracking for potential expansion of Carbon/SBT strategy.
Bachelors Degree in Sustainability or Environmental Sciences, Energy, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field and at least 4 years experience with sustainability reporting or climate protection OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience with sustainability reporting or climate protection.
Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources tobring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
Experience building successful relationships
Advanced experience in Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with afocus on creating high-quality, high-impact deliverables.
At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or crossfunctionalteam leadership.
Willing to travel up to/at least 15% of the time for business purposes(within state and out of state).
An employee in this position can expect a salary/hourly rate between $98,900.00 and $158,200.00 plus bonus pursuant to the terms of any bonus plan if applicable.
