Job Summary

Performs clerical, assistant, or technician level work in support of a staffing and recruitment function.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assists with new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
  • Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database as needed.
  • Helps to maintain company organization charts and employee directory.
  • Maintains personnel files and ensures company recordkeeping compliance.
  • Under the direction of HR Generalist, Participates in recruitment effort for exempt and non-exempt personnel (excluding managerial levels and above); and helps to coordinate the use of temporary employees.
  • Assists with benefits related questions.
  • Assists with interpreting general HR policy and procedures. All complex matters will be reviewed by another member of HR.
  • Demonstrates positive customer relations with internal and external customers. Remains flexible and resilient in response to changing customer needs. Assesses and provides guidance and solutions to team members.
  • Performs related projects as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED and at least 3 years of human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: using SUM function, setting borders, setting column width, inserting charts, using text wrap, sorting, setting headers and footers and/or print scaling).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft PowerPoint (for example: applying a theme, formatting character spacing, inserting a picture, changing slide layout and theme colors, adding transitions, customizing slide numbers, changing chart style and/or formatting font).
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Word (for example: inserting headers, page breaks, page numbers and tables and/or adjusting table columns).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 5 years human resources experience in employee relations, staffing & selection, compensation & benefits and/or training.
  • Experience using time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Access (for example: opening a table in datasheet view, entering data, filtering data, creating a form, modifying a form layout, applying themes, running, sorting and saving queries, creating and formatting a report, changing report test, adding an image, printing labels, navigating through records, and/or exporting to Excel).

The current salary range for this position is $21.05 per hour - $31.60 per hour. The actual hourly salary within this range that you will be offered will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant factors.
