Senior Director, Digital Communications & Corporate Storytelling

Job Summary

Responsible for developing a sophisticated, impactful and multi-channel story mining and storytelling system that will advance the company’s business, brand and reputation objectives externally and internally. Primary lead for managing the internal and external digital properties and initiatives under the purview of Corporate Communications department.

Job Responsibilities
  • Establish a new, proactive storytelling architecture and “Newsroom”-style communications system for the company that identifies and packages enterprise stories that support the company’s business and reputation goals, reach key internal and external audiences with company messaging and build awareness and action among key influencers, partners and advocates. Includes the establishment of a corporate journalism discipline and approach and building and maintaining a digital storytelling hub.
  • Develop highly creative and effective content and distribution strategies for company stories across owned, digital, online and social media channels. Work in close partnership with other Corporate Communications and Marketing functions including media relations management, multi-media and events, brand marketing, investor relations and corporate social responsibility to aggregate content ideas, align messages and news flow and fully leverage, amplify and publicize story development and curated content.
  • Play lead role in the redevelopment and ongoing management and governance of key corporate digital assets, including company intranets, enterprise Web sites, social media platforms and, in partnership with the media relations management team, the company’s online digital newsroom.
  • Effectively manage the work and professional development of a small team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing or Journalism and at least 8 years of experience in progressively more responsible roles in enterprise communications, digital communications, public relations, and/or corporate communications.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading internal and external digital content strategy for a publicly traded company of over $5 billion in revenue.
  • Experience working in a corporate communications environment in a publicly-traded company with revenues of $10 Billion or more.
  • Experience working with C-Suite executives.
  • Experience managing a small- to medium-sized team.
  • Experience building rapport, establishing credibility to engage and influence stakeholder and constituents at all levels, internally and externally; astute senior executive, business partner, and stakeholder relationship manager.
  • Experience presenting to all levels of an organization
  • At least 5 years of experience planning, developing, and managing departmental expense and capital budgets.
  • At least 5 years of experience directly managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people as they work
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

  • MBA or Master’s degree
