Job Summary

Work Location: Bellevue, WA / Deerfield, IL / Chicago, IL / Chantilly, VA (3 days per week onsite work in any of the office locations listed here)

The DevOps Engineer II encompasses support for our Software delivery systems including (but not limited to) release engineering, release automation, project management, software deployment and configuration, as well as system monitoring.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs standard code branding practices and merging processes
  • Develops standards for engineering team to follow to ensure development env is up and running
  • Troubleshoots any issues w/development environment
  • Tackles a challenging and varied set of problems aimed at how we can further mature our DevOps tools, processes, and engineering capabilities.
  • Maintains and enhances the stability, capacity, and performance of our systems
  • Develops, analyzes and maintains tools that support and automate processes for software product releases.
  • Automates release processes to eliminate manual work and human error.
  • Escalates issues to other teams as appropriate by providing detailed log analysis that bring the development team up to speed quickly on the problem.
  • Documents incidents/problems and interacts with other teams to drive permanent resolutions.
  • Builds and enhances software delivery systems and infrastructure.
  • Adds to the monitoring infrastructure to allow more proactive detection of problems and issues.
  • Anticipates, prevents and eliminates problems and creates efficient fixes.
  • Works cross-functionally to accomplish assignments and mentors less experienced members of the team.
  • Researches and utilizes the latest industry standard tools and practices to meet the evolving needs of our Development and Business teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 2 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as DevOps, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar OR High School/ GED and at least 4 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as DevOps, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar
  • Experience building CI/CD systems that meet requirements around secure software delivery, stability, and scalability.
  • Experience working with service requests, incident and problem management.
  • Experience implementing or adopting Enterprise’s Continuous Deployment and Integration.
  • Experience with Python and at least one additional programming language, such as Java, PowerShell, JavaScript, Go, etc.
  • Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience in a technical engineering role, such as DevOps, release management, deployment engineering, site operations, technical operations or similar.
  • Experience with Azure Pipelines
  • Experience with software engineering, system administration, system automation, and application support experience.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.

Salary Range $94900 - $151600 / Salaried
