Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled IT Infrastructure Engineering Intern to join our team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing our IT infrastructure, which supports all of Walgreens pharmacy retail operations and development activities. This internship will provide students with the real-world skills to successfully transition into their IT engineering career.

Job Responsibilities:
    • Working directly with engineers on designing and implementing solutions specifically within the ETL and data integration management for real challenges to the business.

    • Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components and tools.

    • Support IT infrastructure projects such as network upgrades, server migrations, and system integrations.

    • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operations, as well as make recommendations to support the business.

    • Help in documenting infrastructure configurations, procedures, and protocols.

    • Collaborate with the IT team to improve system security, reliability, and efficiency.

    • Research and recommend innovative, cost-effective approaches to IT infrastructure challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program with 2 semesters remaining upon start date
  • Experience communicating via written reports and presenting the information in a formal or classroom setting to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience collaborating with teams in person and virtually
  • Basic level skill in Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or similar)
  • Programming language experience

Salary Range$20.82 - $31.25 / Hourly
