Job Summary
Leads and oversees engineering, maintenance, and process improvement functions at Walgreens’ central fulfillment facilities. Responsible for developing and implementing department strategies and integrating efforts with division and company strategies. Accountable for guiding and overseeing development and execution of central fulfillment material handling systems, building maintenance programs and operations to achieve strategic and operational business goals and influence over targeted financial and quality results. Participates with senior management and executives to establish strategic plans and objectives. Ensures budgets and schedules meet Support Center requirements. Creates and fosters a high performance culture, directing the development of innovative processes and solutions to complex, organization-wide challenges.

Job Responsibilities
- Oversees processes and approaches, working with long-term perspective; develop strategic goals to align with central fulfillment’s vision. Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the company.
- Directs the development of innovative approaches, processes, and solutions that support department, division, and company strategies. Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs and people. Erroneous decisions will have a serious impact on the overall success of functional, division or company results.
- Interacts regularly with executives and/ or major stakeholders. Interactions frequently involved special skills, such as negotiating with stakeholders or vendors or attempting to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
- Creates and fosters high performance culture, focused on engagement, accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Owns and manages relationships with third party service providers, including partner selection, contract negotiation, and performance management.
- Provides advanced leadership, advice to the Organization, and addresses technical problems.
- Champions company initiatives, connecting efforts to company vision and purpose and driving increased engagement.
- Monitors industry trends, best practices, and regulatory issues as they relate to specific area(s) of responsibility and shares learnings, as appropriate, with direct reports and peers.
- Plans, develops and manages departmental expense and capital budgets. Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
- Develops and mentors staff through on-boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace
- Approves and aligns critical building maintenance projects with strategic and operational business goals, financial targets, and ensures the provision of the best value for the Company.
- Develops short- and long-range strategies for the entirety of the central fulfillment facilities. Oversees the execution of sustainable operation plans.
- Communicates across Centralized Services the vision for the maintenance program and influence support from critical stakeholders.
- Oversees end of life replacement validation, maintenance cost assessment, and alternative solution evaluations.
- Collaborates with operations on planning maintenance activities. Work on integral projects and estimate impacts to maintenance in order to incorporate into cost benefits.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and experience with store operations, manufacturing, pharmacy, or distribution material handling systems or High School/GED and at least 11 years in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and experience with store operations, manufacturing, pharmacy, or distribution material handling systems
- At least 7 years of experience identifying issues, trends, or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience with work measurement, time studies and standard work (developing of a standard work process and implementation of that process).
- Experience leading cross functional teams in project development and process improvements.
- Experience with continuous process improvement process, procedures, programs, such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen and appropriate application of the tool.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA/Master's Degree.
- At least 8 years of experience with store operations, manufacturing, pharmacy, or distribution material handling systems
- At least 5 years of experience managing 3rd party relationships.
- Experience with project management (for example: planning, organizing, and managing resources to bring about the successful completion of specific project goals and objectives).
- Experience developing ways of accomplishing goals with little or no supervision, depending on oneself to complete objectives and determining when escalation of issues is necessary.
