Job Summary:
Manages, leads, and executes protective services and corporate security for the Company, C-suite executives, members of the board of directors, and visiting VIPs (such as CEO's of other organizations, major customers, political leaders, etc.). Develops comprehensive plans to ensure appropriate levels of personal protection throughout the company's facilities, at Company executives’ personal residences, airfields, off-site events, and ground and air transportation. Recommends procurement and installation of security equipment (including technology-based countermeasures) to aid in these efforts. Directs and/or conducts comprehensive risk / threat assessments for the company including Senior Company Leadership, other personnel who may require levels of protective services, and to physical locations.
Provides leadership and direction on all aspects of enterprise physical security for non-retail locations, including, executive protection, crisis management, security operations, and physical security.

Job Responsibilities:
- Corporate Security
- Directs and manages the corporate security organization in the safeguarding of the company's people, assets and facilities.
- In cooperation with the Executive Committee, lead the development and implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies. Continually assess threats and security-related risks to the company and its employees and update risk mitigation policies and practices accordingly.
- Directs the control of resources and personnel in response to executive security matters and other crises impacting Walgreens (examples: CEO travel, shareholder meeting, data breach).
- Establishes and maintains relationships with appropriate local, state and federal agencies. Additionally, will benchmark program with industry peers
- Establishes a threat assessment framework including identifying key members of panel, training and implementation of program throughout the Company. Ensures communication and crisis management response programs are ready to deploy when an event or situation necessitates.
- Leads the threat, risk and investigations team and supports the investigation of retail and non-retail security and fraud related events.
- Executive Protection
- Provides strategic direction, leads, and executes protective services for the organization's C-suite executives, members of the board of directors, and visiting leaders, such as CEO's of other organizations, major customers, political leaders, etc.
- Oversees executive protection of C-suite executives and their security during business travel, at Company headquarters, and other work-related functions. Governs the implementation of intelligence and threat analysis gathering to ensure proper communication of risks to leaders.
- Conducts comprehensive risk / threat assessments of personnel covered by executive protection and implements necessary protocols to mitigate identified risks.
- Oversees corporate investigative and standards team. Conducts investigations pertaining to fraud and threats of violence for external and internal threats
- Responsible for all aspects of management of Executive Protection Activities / Assignments including budget, team projects, and delegation of resources to support work. In addition to executive protection, activities / programs may include threat mitigation, protective intelligence, counter surveillance, and GPS tracking technology.
- Successfully presents high level security matters to key stakeholders including but not limited to CEO and other C-Suite leaders, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors. When deemed appropriate, brief senior level management regarding potential threats and offers risk mitigation strategies.
- Oversees the administration of the corporate jet, including security, logistics, maintenance and staffing.
- Security Program
- Develops the operating budget, forecasts and manages the financials in the area of executive protection. Maintains broad knowledge of technology, compliance, finance and operations within the enterprise in order to deliver successfully on financial commitments. Ensures that established goals and deadlines are met.
- Directs the development and implementation of company security policies, standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Maintains important relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement officials and intelligence agencies to further enhance the protection of the company's employees and assets.
- Coordinates and implements the company's workplace violence program and active shooter training.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and at least eight years of experience in Law Enforcement/Intelligence and/or Corporate Security, including responsibility for Executive Protection at the highest level
- At least five (5) years of Corporate Security Senior Management/Leadership experience
- Experience dealing with various and relevant protective intelligence sources for social media
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Experience developing and implementing crisis response programs.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to/at least 25% of the time for business purposes (domestically and/or internationally).
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Certifications such as CPP (Certified Protection Professional/ASIS International) preferred.
- Experienced Executive and Security Professional who can work effectively with the Senior Management of the Company.
- Experience strategizing, conceptualizing and acting independently.
- Significant Executive Protection experience in the public and/or private sector.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to comfortably speak with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Business, Accounting and/or Criminal Justice.
- Graduate/Advanced Degree (M.B.A., J.D., Criminal Justice, or Security Management).
