Job Summary
The Senior Director Specialty Pharmacy Development will work closely with the DVP Specialty Development and will solely be focused on business development and identification of opportunities. The Senior Director will work with internal and external professionals to drive business development, LDD access, hub referrals, data fees and rebates.

Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for Business Development relating to specialty pharma, specialty pharmacy consultant communities, and small biotech companies to ensure inclusion in manufacturer RFPs and access to limited distribution drugs, CGT, rare or orphan medications.
- Collaborates internally to ensure enterprise wide alignment of specialty pipeline among specialty operations, Walgreens finance, Walgreens Legal teams, Walgreens contracting, National Account Managers, Specialty Pharmacy Development directors, National Pharmaceutical Account Directors, ARxWP Brand Directors, Walgreens Marketing, clinical teams and Specialty Trade Relations
- Creates analytics for feedback reporting and tracking
- Monitors progress and track record for limited distribution
- Represents specialty trade team in specific internal leadership initiatives.
- Works with Specialty Operations Team for creating solutions and to help implementation of rare disease and oncology trade strategies that improve access to limited distribution drugs.
- Works with RFP team and key stakeholders to successfully respond to manufacturer RFPs
- Creates effective responses and finalist presentations to contribute gaining access to specialty products
- Tracks and maintains RFP process, RFP library, and capabilities slide decks.
- Monitors industry dynamics to update and successfully update strategies and Business Development focus

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and at least 8 years of experience within specialty pharmacy or Pharma industry OR High School/GED and at least 11 years of experience within specialty pharmacy or Pharma industry
- Experience in industry relations
- Business Development and negotiation skills with pharmaceutical manufacturers and experience within specialty pharmacy
- Ability to travel as needed for corporate meetings, pharma presentations, and strategic conferences.
- At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and or cross functional team leadership.
- Willing to travel up to or at least 25% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to be proactive anticipates organization needs
- Management or business development skills and responsibilities (contract negations or specialty pipeline)
- Ability to interact professionally with all levels of management, internal and externally
- Ability to handle large sized manufacturer relationships
- Strong industry specific knowledge, including demonstrated knowledge of reimbursement, specialty pharmaceutical, and pharmacy distribution trends and practices.
- Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills and creativity to develop new specialty products to gain value from pharma
- Consistent, excellent follow up skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and focus given the dynamic nature of specialty pharmacy (example handling several projects, contracts, and internal meetings at a time)
- Great communication with DVP, SpRxD
Salary Range$180500 - $306700 / Salaried
